From Lobster to Luxury: 8-Story Luxury Condos on Allen Street Go Live

We haven’t really touched upon the 42 Allen Street development in the five years since our first report about plans for this site. In that time, the high traffic corner has gone from one-story warehouse to eight-story condo development. Indeed, what was once a Chinatown lobster farm wholesale business now sits pretty as a shiny new residential development.

Yet, it’s remained vacant ever since completion and disrobing in late 2015. Since then, real estate listings for its stores are aplenty. Overloading Craigslist with offers and promises.

Only recently, however, did a sign in the windows arrive pimping the availability of luxury condos here at 42 Allen. Sales are live as of last week. And at the moment, there is one availability – a 2-bedroom-3-bathroom pad for $2.1 million. Compass is the exclusive brokerage.

The ground level retail and second-floor community space remain vacant.
