Nestled behind the sunken court in Sara D. Roosevelt Park is a hidden gem of a bird sanctuary called Hua Mei Bird Garden. The tiny tree-lined real estate is definitely one of the unsung treasures of the 7-acre, 7-block park, and is a welcome taste of nature amidst a concrete jungle.

C’est Beau Pop-Up Opens at 55 Delancey

In October 2009, Creative Sign, Inc. moved just two doors down from 55-D Delancey into the gut-renovated cornershop of 55 Delancey.  After the dozen-yard re-location, 55-D gained a highly conspicuous “for rent” banner, yet remained dormant until now.  Hello, pop-up!

Coming Soon: Berkli Parc Cafe at 61 Delancey

The prime real estate at the southwest corner of Allen and Delancey is to become a cafe tentatively called Berkli Parc Cafe.  The news is not too surprising, though, considering the recent positioning of other upscale restaurants near this particular intersection (e.g. Sorella, White Slab Palace).

Vintage boutique newcomer The Sweet Ones opened at 132 Allen back in early November.  Seven months later, it’s now in trouble with the city.
