Whereas many sprouting construction sites are encapsulated in netting for safety, the new Sperone Westwater Gallery at 257 Bowery is quite an exception.  Weeks after first revealing its hulking skeleton, building frontage remains exposed, providing a clear view of progress.

Exactly one year ago, the city dedicated the corner of Sullivan and Bleecker Streets to two fallen auxiliary police officers – Eugene Marshalik and Nicholas Pekearo. Add one more to the growing list of TrustoCorp faux signs popping up throughout the Lower East Side.  This “locals only” traffic sign was strategically positioned outside Max Fish on Ludlow.
