Broke is the New Black

Yes, broke is the new black.  At least according to this non-commissioned street sign which recently surfaced at the corner of Orchard and East Houston.  The metal sign is casually affixed below the neon crosswalk warning, and blends in quite nicely.  Truly a “what’s wrong with this picture” moment.

Miami Advertises on Houston

There’s a big promotional push happening in the neighborhood right now for travel to Miami. Taped to light poles along the Houston corridor, from east to west, are dozens of advertisements with the tagline “express yourself.”  As if people here really needed to be told to visit Florida.
