Tiptoeing Atop Karl Fischer’s 263 Bowery

The other day, a worker at Karl Fischer’s 263 Bowery was busy tiptoeing with a rope and pulley mechanism atop the cinder-block summit. Yet without a harness of any kind!  We are by no means experts on construction site safety, but this just seems rather foolish.

It’s that time of year again, when Christmas consumerism becomes increasingly unavoidable and holiday cheer is turned up to eleven.  Tree vendors have returned to their strategic position along the East Houston facade of Whole Foods. What prices are you encountering between the various sidewalk sellers?  Good deals or rip offs?

To answer our question from a couple weeks ago, 168 Ludlow will in fact become a high-end consignment shop called PPF Consignment (Past, Present, Future), rather than a typical secondhand store.  Figures, given its location in Hell Square.  We spoke with the two owners and learned that the new venture will target the fashionista set [...]
