Travel Channel to Film Inside Katz’s

According to an orange sign hanging in Katz’s, the Travel Channel is producing some sort of program on the iconic deli, and is looking for so-called “superfans.”  The cable station wants “you on camera loud and proud to tell viewers everywhere why Katz’s Deli is the best.”

In anticipation of Valentine’s Day, a number of the bell-shaped abutments along the West Houston median were transformed into life-sized Hershey Kisses. Each tag has its own love-themed message, along with the requisite website shoutout.

Snowmageddon Meltdown

Our love of city snowstorms is equally countered by the inevitable nuisance of the street melt (not a sandwich).  Maneuvering past snow bulkheads and corner puddles is definitely a strategy in itself.  Especially since many of these cold slush pools tend to be deceptively deep.
