The Last Rides of the V Train

On Friday night, dozens of young revelers looking for an excuse to party turned out to mourn/celebrate the discontinuation of the V train.  The “We Hardly Knew V” event was more a scene than statement.

Time for another weekly progress report on the graffiti wall.  Nearly two months to the day after Shepard Fairey unveiled his mural at the corner of Bowery and East Houston, its base is completely mangled.

Newmindspace Hosts “We Hardly Knew V” Train Party Tonight

On the heels of a successful LES Lightsaber battle in Sara D. Roosevelt Park, the duo behind Newmindspace is back in the saddle again (cue Aerosmith).  The latest public event is inspired by the termination of the V subway line beginning Monday morning.

Hundreds Line Up Outside Apple SoHo for iPhone 4

Right now, on one of the hottest, most sweltering days thus far this summer, hundreds are queued outside the Apple Store in SoHo for the new iPhone 4.  The line wraps around Greene Street, east along Houston, and back south onto Wooster.  Almost a whole city block!
