Lower East Side Time Lapse [Video]

This is pretty awesome.  East Village Feed just dug up this elegant time lapse video of the Lower East Side at night, created by Jean-Paul Lew.  It’s shot from atop First Avenue, looking southward below East Houston.  And the Thompson LES is in full view. [via Runnin' Scared and Guest of a Guest]

263 Bowery Exposes Itself

In the race toward completion, the Karl Fischer development at 263 Bowery is finally catching up to the neighboring Sperone Westwater Gallery, which recently unveiled its new metallic trim and corrugated siding.  The black netting and scaffolding are history, liberating both building and sidewalk.

On Friday night, dozens of young revelers looking for an excuse to party turned out to mourn/celebrate the discontinuation of the V train.  The “We Hardly Knew V” event was more a scene than statement.
