The Law & Order franchise is back in the neighborhood today for the gazillionth time.  NBC film crews will occupy the Bleecker Street real estate between Lafayette and Laguardia Place for the shoot.

Napapijri at 149 Mercer Street in SoHo is shutting down for good.  A tipster sent us the official press release with the following message: “Apparently nobody wants to pay $500 for a hat.”

Yesterday morning, the Mercer-Houston Dog Run received some late-summer greenery. A small group of workers was busy planting flowers and bushes along the metal fence.  Yet despite the recent rehabilitation and this latest effort to beautify, the park remains stubbornly depressing.

Three weeks after renovations began at the Mercer-Houston Dog Run, the project is nearing completion. Pretty good timing. As we speak, the decrepit dog run at the northwest corner of Mercer and Houston is receiving a much-needed facelift. Behind a perimeter of a few dozen orange construction cones, a large section of the old blacktop has been torn up, priming the area for fresh pavement.
