Thanks to Mashable, we now know who was behind the Tourist vs. New Yorker sidewalk stunt.  These lines were drawn across Manhattan, but most notably in the Lower East Side.  Fittingly, it was the ingenious folks at Improv Everywhere.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.  Assembly New York, that is.  The Ludlow boutique closed its Key Shop pop-up with Robert Geller at 129 Rivington, and now has another new joint venture there.  It’s called Everybody’s Going to Heaven, and offers mens and womens vintage clothing.

Breaking: Tiny’s to Return Later this Week

Thanks to an eagle-eyed tipster, we bring happy news that Tiny’s Giant Sandwich Shop is reopening “later this week” after nearly four months of closure.  This sign hangs from the shuttered gates of 129 Rivington Street.

Boardwalk Empire Filming on Rivington Today

HBO is returning to the neighborhood today to film select scenes for its upcoming series Boardwalk Empire.  According to the announcement flyers, the show is parked on Rivington between Ludlow and Suffolk, for the purposes of capturing some interior shots.

White Collar Filming on the Lower East Side Today

Now that the Law & Order franchise is donesky, there is a rather large void in Gotham-based serial programming.  However, the USA venture White Collar is definitely in a position to inherit the throne, as it were.  Or at least part of it.  Filming for the second season is already underway.
