Calvin Klein follows up its series of racy advertising above East Houston with another Eva Mendes sweaty sex scene. The prior billboard banner was in place for much of November.

The junction of Allen and East Houston.  For a brief period, it was the quintessential intersection of sex, thanks to a run of scandalous American Apparel ads [Camera 1 and Camera 2]. That distinguished title was forfeited, however, when the ad space disintegrated in September of last year and was never re-activated.  Then Calvin Klein [...]

The always-erotic Calvin Klein billboard above the intersection of Houston and Lafayette just took another turn for the tame.  In this round of sex-vertising, the model is actually fully clothed (sans cleavage), and is not the center of attention.  Instead it is the product being sold, a new fragrance called Euphoria.

Two weeks after hoisting a “less risque” banner above Houston, Calvin Klein already has a replacement. The new billboard is even less racy. Another high profile retreat.

So after all the hoopla last week, Calvin Klein decided to swap the orgy advertisement with something a little more appropriate earlier this morning.
