Noontime this past Saturday, Fort Pitt Tower Ladder 18 was busy extinguishing a car engine fire in the driving rain.  The event transpired in the southbound lane on Allen Street, just below Delancey.

Essex Dental Office at 143 Essex Temporarily Closed

Essex Dental Office, one of the ground floor tenants of 143 Essex Street, is reportedly sidelined for the next few days.  This temporary closure is most likely due to damages sustained during the fire which broke out last Thursday night.

As we speak firefighters are gearing up outside 143 Essex Street. A ton of fire trucks and first responders are on scene. More details and pictures to follow…

Assafa Islamic Center Shuttered by DOB

The Assafa Islamic Center on Allen Street, which currently has a new facility under construction at 172 Eldridge Street, was shuttered last week by order of the DOB.
