The trendiest neighborhood hotels – Thompson LES, Cooper Square Hotel, Bowery Hotel – have nothing on this Orchard Street studio gem, currently being whored out as a vacation rental.  Apparently it’s the most comfortable studio apartment in all of downtown Manhattan, and can be yours for $150 per night.

Comfort Inn Now Open at 136 Ludlow

The new geographically-challenged Comfort Inn at 136 Ludlow is now open.  We passed by the hotel last night, and noticed an employee stationed at the front desk, along with a security dude sitting on a front couch.

Hotels are again the talk headache of the neighborhood.  Fresh off blockbuster news that a Comfort Inn is moving into 136 Ludlow (just across from the UN!), there is now visible activity to report at the corner of Suffolk and Delancey, future site of Sam Chang’s hotel venture.

For too long, 136 Ludlow has sat vacant.  Just waiting for the inevitable reveal.  But few expected this bombshell.  Curbed is now reporting that the new building is opening as a Comfort Inn come June 1!  It will be interesting to see how this plays out.  Hotels, hotels, how we really need more of you [...]
