In case you didn’t feel like leaving the warm cocoon of your apartment, this sight should bolster that decision. Even the fire hydrant, and its leaking stream, are frozen solid. If you’re strolling along the west side of Orchard Street, near the corner of Stanton, watch your head. The sign post there is close to collapsing on the sidewalk. Of course, the ice and slushy mess don’t help either.
