View CommentsAfter hanging above the corner of Lafayette and East Houston for years, Sony has finally surrendered the valuable NoHo perch to the fashion industry. Gone is the epileptic PSP. Now the billboard sports an anorexic H&M advertisement. End of an era, folks. Condo owners at SHoP’s 290 Mulberry are probably quite happy. [February 2009]

View CommentsAs of Friday afternoon, nearly two weeks after boutique Shop shuttered, 94 Orchard Street is again under the knife. Workers installed a new glass door facade, and are now busy gut renovating the whole interior. By last night, the crew was re-leveling the floor with a fresh coat of concrete. Despite the deep spring clearance sales all weekend, the store abruptly shuttered after business hours on Sunday night. There were no outward signs or warnings of its impending doom.
