Wyndham Garden Hotel Rising Above the Bowery

Walking south down the Bowery these days, you may notice a not-so-subtle change in the skyline.  Indeed, at the corner of Hester Street, the Wyndham Garden Hotel is slowly rearing its concrete head above the low-rise surroundings.  Out of character. Out of context. Out of control.

38 Delancey Primed for the Big Time

In the month since our last update on 38 Delancey, the remaining shell of netting and scaffolding was completely removed.  The future condoplex is now fully naked and primed for the big time.  Twenty-some-odd stories of luxury living are now officially part of the growing Lower East Side skyline.  Any takers?  Bueller?

Skyline at Dusk

We took advantage of Saturday’s summer weather to scope out the skyline from atop the Municipal Parking lot on Ludlow/Essex Street at dusk. The facility itself is pretty run-down – empties in the stairwell and a perpetually broken elevator – and is still very much an authentic symbol of seediness.
