Boogie commenter Pete helps us piece together the location of Chris Santos’ latest nightlife venture.  It appears as though the Stanton Social owner chose the old M. Katz & Sons real estate at 146 Essex Street, which is currently undergoing the necessary renovations.

Within the last couple weeks a fresh sidewalk shed was erected at the entrance of 146 Essex Street.  This was the home of M. Katz & Sons Furniture for over five decades.  No longer.  Word on the street is that a new restaurant will be opening here.

Spitzer’s Corner is Closed Until Friday

Spitzer’s Corner will be closed through Thursday for unknown reasons.  However, last night, a man on a ladder was fixing some lighting, so perhaps it’s for routine maintenance.

On Rivington Street, just outside Spitzer’s Corner, sits this toppled fire hydrant. Drunken hooligans or reckless motorists? Or some combination of the two? Either way, it’s an uncomfortable sight.
