Spitzer’s Corner will be closed through Thursday for unknown reasons.  However, last night, a man on a ladder was fixing some lighting, so perhaps it’s for routine maintenance.

On Rivington Street, just outside Spitzer’s Corner, sits this toppled fire hydrant. Drunken hooligans or reckless motorists? Or some combination of the two? Either way, it’s an uncomfortable sight.

Embattled “gastropub” Spitzer’s Corner is seeking approval for a sidewalk cafe just in time for spring. Public hearing is May 11 at 6:30 PM, 200 East Fifth Street. Bring your complaints.

Spitzer’s Corner just can’t catch a break. Since opening at the corner of Ludlow and Rivington, this self-proclaimed “gastropub” has been riddled with violations. Last August, it was underage drinking. Then, merely a month later, a brief run-in with the DOH shut down business for a couple days. And now it’s three [...]

Much like our disgraced ex-governor, Spitzer’s Corner is now out of commission. Yesterday, the Department of Health stopped by to officially shut down the underage hangout. Let’s see how long this lasts. Neighbors, rejoice!
