Last Friday, we reported that a new arcade was planned for 158 Allen Street.  It’s actually just a temporary pop-up installation by street artists Faile and BAST called Deluxx FLUXX (not Vale).  The exhibition opens today, and will run through May 27.

Felix Morelo Chalks the Sidewalks Again

Felix Morelo is at it again with his distinct brand of sidewalk art.  Yesterday, his chalk faces surfaced in succession  along three separate sidewalks just south of East Houston. Each display has a different head count.

Action for Progress Badly Damaged Due to Neighboring Construction

The full vacate order issued to 255 Easton Houston last week was no April Fools Day prank. On the contrary.  Thanks to construction on the neighboring lot at the corner of Suffolk Street, the Action for Progress day care center was badly damaged, and is now deemed “perilous to life.”  Said lot – 265 East [...]

Felix Morelo Brings His Faces to the Bowery

While strolling the Bowery yesterday morning, we came across a hopscotch matrix of faces chalked on the sidewalk outside the Bowery Mission.  Spanning nearly half the concrete between Rivington and Stanton, the graffiti layout included 180 faces, marked at various numeric intervals, as well as a “good luck spot” starting circle.  Check it out before [...]

Eldridge Street Stikman

Outside 132 Eldridge Street is a veritable canvas of colorfully detailed Stikman art.  It’s nice to see such a unique presentation, especially since most Stikmen in the neighborhood seem to be flattened in the streets.
