Median Work on Chrystie Street

Earlier this week, nearly eighteen months after a median makeover on Chrystie Street just north of Delancey, the concrete island was completely ripped apart without warning.  And those bell-shaped abutments were left for dead in a pile of dust and rubble.

2nd Avenue Subway Stop During the Rush

This is a prime example of why you should avoid the 2nd Avenue/Lower East Side subway stop during rush hour.  But especially when it’s raining.  Bottlenecks inevitably form thanks to the cramped subway platform and one narrow staircase to service half the station; it’s almost always a perfect storm.
