Cleanup from Cage Film
Filming on Eldridge Street for Nicholas Cage’s new movie, Sorcerer’s Apprentice (a live-action contemporary take on the Disney classic), is now complete. However, as reported here last week, the brief disruption already took its toll on some unfortunate residents living at #22.
Simply put, the block between Division and Canal is a disaster area. Electric cables snake through streets layered with tons of colorful confetti; lighting equipment, giant fans, and cherry pickers are also parked in the immediate environs. In fact, the film crews made such a mess that the production company set aside a full week to clean. The official scrub-down began on Saturday, and will continue through Friday.
