Like Lili’s Wink and ItsaSickness before it, 132 Ludlow will soon become yet another boutique – Veda.  Sandwiched between Iggy’s Keltic Lounge and Steve Madden, this leather-leaning shop is apparently (wait for it) a “fashionista’s answer to the Holy Grail search for the perfect leather jacket.”  Perhaps that would explain the creepy neon-lit crucifix above the entrance, or the morbid gravestone that currently sits in direct vision of all who pass.

While not yet open, Veda is currently hiring.  A sign in the window beckons those interested in becoming “shop girls” to send resumes.  Hmm.  What will the dress code be at this joint?  Rock star or porn star?

The Whole Foods on the Bowery thinks it owns the sidewalk. Just look to the entrance, where a gaggle of delivery bikes, with long flatbeds hitched, are parked awaiting parcels. Someone is Growing Corn Stalks on Delancey Street

Talk about farm to table… A guerrilla farmer is growing corn on Delancey Street, but you wouldn’t necessarily notice on first passing. The decrepit flower box outside the Allen Mall Bathhouse on Delancey Street is chock full of plantings. And the growing glut of crap behind it keeps you away. Gaze there, though, and you’ll […]
