Yesterday evening on Mulberry Street, there was a last-minute scramble to set up before the clusterfuck of the season, otherwise known as the San Gennaro festival.  Vendors worked feverishly to build their temporary wooden stands while other laborers unloaded food and supplies from parked trucks.  The eighty-second annual “feast” begins today and runs through September 20.  In that time expect plenty of tourists and B&T folk alike to descend upon a Disneyfied version of a now-vanished Little Italy.  Get ready for plenty of obstructive trash heaps and drunken debauchery.
