A tipster sent along a photo of the following street scene outside of Whole Foods on East Houston.  The rows of bucket seats and signs are part of a publicity stunt for Nissan and its new “Journey to Zero Emissions” campaign.

Bleecker Subway Entrance Leveled

Upgrading city infrastructure usually comes at an exorbitant price – eviction, demolition, and population relocation.  Thanks to the superstation capital works project currently underway along East Houston and Lafayette, one of the Brooklyn Bridge-bound Bleecker Street subway entrances recently disappeared.  Leveled.

A City Is in Alphabet City

A City Is is a cool book of New York City-centric poems geared toward young children. Written by Norman Rosten and illustrated by Melanie Hope Greenberg, the pages feature cartoonified depictions of various neighborhoods and landmarks.

A Note to Crackheads at Bamboleo Cafe

Judging by the passive-aggressive urban etiquette note stuffed into the security gate of Bamboleo Cafe earlier this week, the Mexican eatery at 170 Bleecker Street seems to have security problems. And it would appear that the onus squarely falls on a roving gang of “crackheads” in the area.

Even More Details on the Moldy Fig at 178 Stanton

After learning last week that the Moldy Fig would soon open at 178 Stanton Street, new intel about the venture continues to roll into Boogie HQ.  We received an informative email from management, which focused more on the music programming component of the venture.

108 Ludlow Ready to Rent

Judging by the new Misrahi Realty banners hanging from its sides, it appears 108 Ludlow (aka 100 Delancey) is finally ready to rent.  Renovations, vertical expansion, and most recently, broken water pipes, are now in the past.  New apartments feature stunning views of the Ludlow Residence penitentiary!

Big Reveal: Seven Rivers of India

Yesterday afternoon was the big reveal for Seven Rivers of India at 203 East Houston.  The brown paper is now gone from the windows, revealing a seemingly plain vanilla interior.  The grand opening is no doubt imminent. [Photo: EV Grieve]
