Faile and BAST Deluxx FLUXX Arcade on Allen

Last Friday, we reported that a new arcade was planned for 158 Allen Street.  It’s actually just a temporary pop-up installation by street artists Faile and BAST called Deluxx FLUXX (not Vale).  The exhibition opens today, and will run through May 27.

The Faile and BAST Deluxx FLUXX Arcade had a London residency earlier this year, appropriating two floors of Lazarides Rathbone Place Gallery (yes, that same Lazarides which preceded Pulino’s).  158 Allen Street is obviously much smaller in comparison, but nevertheless retains the same pop-culture-on-speed vibe.  The space is cosmetically altered with plenty of neon and blacklight wheatpaste.

According to The Most Beautifullest Thing, the arcade units “run new games by Adapted Studio based on Faile and Bast’s omnivorous visual language, with sounds produced by Seth Jabour of the noted band Les Savy Fav.”
