An Update on the Wyndham Garden Hotel at Bowery and Hester

Today we head down to Hester Street to follow up on the forthcoming Wyndham Garden Hotel at the southeast corner of the Bowery. The concrete beast is now officially capped, boasting the customary American flag at its apex.

But that’s not all! Oh no. It’s high time for more glass on the Bowery. Indeed, two stories up, the antiseptic sheen of aqua-colored glass was just recently introduced. When complete, the Wyndham Garden Hotel will resemble the rendering below, and so far, it looks true to form. Meanwhile, its hotel brethren (i.e. Cooper Square Hotel, Bowery Hotel) further to the north are awaiting the eventual high-five from the lower Bowery.

Lest we forget that this new hotel also comes at the expense of 128 Hester, which was evacuated and demolished last year.
