Violet & Daisy Filming on Stanton Tomorrow

More movie madness is coming to the neighborhood tomorrow, just around the corner from where generation Um set up shop yesterday.  Looks like Violet & Daisy is ready to start filming along Stanton Street between Orchard and Essex. It’s only fitting that these two features would shoot side-by-side, considering both simultaneously scouted the area earlier this month.

The area roped off for filming also includes portions of Essex Street between East Houston and Rivington.

Violet & Daisy is written and directed by Geoffrey Fletcher (Precious), and focuses on two teenage assassins whose plans get thrown off by an unexpected target.  The plot has also been described as “Thelma & Louise meets Superbad with a helping of Pulp Fiction.”  Bruce Willis is no longer involved with the movie, however, but James Gandolfini (Sopranos) and Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls) are now on board.
