Body & Soul Tattoo at 118 East First is Closed

Body & Soul Tattoo at 118 East First Street has been closed for months, brown paper masking the windows, and an NYCRS leasing banner up above.  Over the summer we had called the Jersey City branch to learn what was what.  At the time, we were told that renovations were afoot.

But that’s no longer the case.  Last weekend, the kickass mural of flames was haphazardly whitewashed clean. The last remnant of the parlor is the “tattoo” verbiage stenciled vertically on the facade. Upon seeing this, we spoke with another employee at the Jersey City outpost (again).  This time around, we were informed that Body & Soul is in fact donezo. It is survived by two New Jersey locations.

The NYCRS listing does not include pricing or square-footage.  Only that all uses are currently being considered, including a restaurant.
