Today we bring word of another Orchard Street vendor shakeup.  Though it’s not all bad news bears.  Consolidation is the operative word here.

Indeed, the owner of two leather shops between Delancey and Rivington is merging his empire into one storefront.  Leather Friend at 142 Orchard is moving its supply of outer garments and such to All Leather at number 127.  A group of workers onsite confirmed the cross-street relocation.  All were busy clearing out the musty old space, placing leather in garbage bags and loading into a parked truck.  Also seen were heaps of hangers and wheely coat racks.

With 142 Orchard now free, and the old City Flavor sitting vacant one door north, an even bigger piece of the block is open for new development.
