Munchies Served Marshal’s Eviction Notice
The fate of Munchies at 179 Essex Street is now sealed. Officially. Yesterday afternoon, the shutters were raised for the first time in over a month to reveal a Marshal’s eviction notice taped to the door. The paperwork was dated November 23, 2010.

Meanwhile, behind the grimy window panes, the onetime late-night fast foodery has since been reduced to a war zone, as it were – destroyed kitchen, scattered appliances, discarded food containers, etc.

Until yesterday, Munchies was still technically in limbo. The gates were shuttered early last month without announcement, and remained closed. So there was still that fading glimmer of hope. Nope, no longer.
