Coming Soon: Lucky’s Famous Burgers at 147 East Houston

The recent turnover was surprisingly speedy over at 147 East Houston. Only a couple weeks, in fact.  With Mario’s Pizza officially dead in the water (so much for holiday closure), a local burger empire is waiting in the wings.  One small sign taped to the glass doorway says it all. This storefront will soon house the fourth location of Lucky’s Famous Burgers.

Just a short time after opening a Hoboken outpost, the so-called “best burgers on Earth” are now expanding back into the Lower East Side, the original home. A call to the company confirms that the East Houston Lucky’s will be open in roughly one month; two tops.

147 East Houston recap: from pita and hummus, to pizza, and now on to burgers. Will Lucky’s have better luck here, for lack of a better word?
