Sunshine Hotel Signage Blocked
Bright sunshine blocked by cloudy plywood. Yes, another symbolic development has come to pass on our beloved Bowery. Meanwhile, 241 Bowery is currently undergoing a fast-paced transition from a restaurant supply depot to a new “mid-century” American diner concept. Mathieu Palombino of Motorino fame is behind the new endeavor, simply called Bowery Diner. Originally conceived as a steakhouse, Palombino pulled a fast one, and decided to focus instead on breakfast fare. It’ll be a fairly large establishment, seating roughly 140 souls. Oh, and he still has that full liquor license. Expected launch date is sometime in late spring.
