Vie De France has finally joined the ranks of the living.  Indeed, the cafe just opened at 96 Orchard Street on Sunday afternoon, roughly four months behind schedule.  The storefront is now outfitted with signboards advertising menu offerings as well as a “grand opening special.”

There’s plenty of French pickings from which to choose, including salads, sandwiches, galettes, and crepes.  Nearly all of the menu items are priced just south of ten dollars.  Stepping inside, the patron is greeted by Chef Armani and crew standing behind an elongated counter.  Follow the narrowish corridor toward the rear, where the space gains more breathing room and some small-table seating.

Of Arts and Oats: OATLY Over Little Italy

The long-shuttered Miss Paradis restaurant has been an eyesore of Little Italy since before the pandemic. This ill-fated eatery, which rose on a corner parking lot across from Old St. Patrick’s, closed its doors in 2018 after only a year in business (and four prior years of planning). Its gleaming rooftop apple did not live […]
