Date Set for Egg Rolls & Egg Creams Festival
Chinese and Jewish traditions will again mingle later this spring during the eleventh annual Egg Rolls & Egg Creams Festival. As in the previous decade, this fusion festival is likely to attract tourists and neighborhood folks to the foot of Eldridge Street, between Canal and Division, for an afternoon teeming with rich culture. The event kicks off Sunday, June 12.

The Egg Rolls & Egg Creams block party is organized by the Eldridge Street Synagogue, as usual, and will feature a melting pot of entertainment for all ages. Everything from Chinese opera singers and Klezmer music to language lessons and Mah Jongg. Here’s our tip: after stuffing face, be sure to check out the relatively new glass window inside the sanctuary, and the Torah scribes (sofer) that repair the scrolls in plain sight. Fascinating stuff!
