Stabbing on Stanton Street Last Night [Updated]
Much of the neighborhood was awoken by a low-flying chopper last night at roughly 3:30. Including yours truly. That echoing sound just wouldn’t go away, like a pestilent mosquito buzzing in the ear. The reason – some shit went down right near 196 Stanton Street.

Details are unclear at the moment, but a half-dozen squad cars were on scene, blocking the road between Attorney and Ridge. Crime scene tape was unrolled in the immediate vicinity. One cop informed us that someone was stabbed, but wouldn’t elaborate any further. The presence of air support for more than thirty minutes would lead us to believe the perp escaped on foot. However, this is just speculation.
UPDATE: According to WPIX, the 50-year-old victim was fatally stabbed in the torso at the Stanton House halfway house at 190 Stanton.
Meanwhile, the crime occurred on the same block where three people were shot last fall in an alleged turf war.
