“Lola Versus” Filming on Orchard Today

Upon seeing this filming sign on upper Orchard Street yesterday, our first reaction was “they’re making some type of Lola Versus Powerman and the Moneygoround movie?”  Negatron.  It’s a lame-ass romantic comedy called Lola Versus, starring Orlando Bloom and Greta Gerwig in the leading roles.  Filming for the feature began earlier this month, and will move to the Lower East Side today, between Stanton and East Houston.

Lola Versus focuses on a woman (Gerwig) who is dumped a few weeks before the wedding to her college sweetheart (Bloom).  The traumatic event prompts her to “embark on a series of encounters in an attempt to discover her place in the world as a single woman before she turns 30.”  Yawn.

The movie is slated to hit theaters sometime in 2013 via Fox Searchlight.
