Shepard Fairey Unveils New Stencil at 213 Bowery

Almost a year after his hated “target” mural at the graffiti wall was deposed, Shepard Fairey returned to the Lower East Side yesterday to unveil a new Obey stencil. The artwork is painted to the facade of 213 Bowery, currently home to Regent Restaurant Equipment.

According to Vandalog, Shep spent much of the day on a cherry picker with his assistants, and still has a some touch up work.  Indeed, the heavy machinery is still sitting at the corner of Rivington Street.

This highly-visible facade has been blank for the last couple years.  It was last home to a longstanding JAM tag, which we always though pretty cool.
