UMBRO x New York Cosmos Pop-Up at Reed Space Annex

Old time soccer and the infamous blackout of 1977 are the inspirations behind a new pop-up shop at the Reed Space Annex on Orchard Street.  It was on July 13 all those years ago that legendary Brazilian footballer Carlos Alberto Torres arrived to play for the New York Cosmos and reunite with his teammate, Pelé.  That night, the lights went dark.

So on the 34th anniversary Wednesday evening, 151 Orchard Street essentially traveled back in time with the UMBRO x New York Cosmos Blackout Pop-Up.  The dual-purpose space currently features a black-on-black collection of New York Cosmos-branded Umbro gear alongside plenty of period-specific photographs and such.

This new line of sportswear was described thusly – “The New York Cosmos Blackout collection celebrates the understated elegance of applying black to an otherwise colourful sport.”  The pop-up itself runs through July 27, 1 pm – 7 pm.
