Perennial pop-up shop Openhouse Gallery is hosting a Handbag Collective all day today at its 201 Mulberry Street headquarters.  Between 11 am and 8 pm, roughly two dozen designers from around the world will peddle their upscale product to the real fashionistas of Nolita (um, hyperlocal TV pilot, anyone?). Price points for these accessories range anywhere from $25 to $750, so be sure to drain the savings account before arriving.

Then from 3-6 pm, there will be a seminar led by Swarovski Elements, Leather/Suede/Skins, M&J Trimming and Global Lux Visionaires to teach aspiring designers how to execute and launch their own line. Rounding out the day of consumerism is happy hour cocktails sponsored by Figenza Vodka.

The free public event is organized by Emily Blumenthal and the folks behind Handbag Designer 101.  “I want it to be a more engaging version of the Brooklyn Flea,” Blumenthal told Openhouse. “I wanted to have people be able to take something educational away.”
