Steve Duncan Explores Bowery Subway Station [Video]
Our favorite urban spelunker, Steve Duncan of Undercity, returned to the underbelly of New York City and recorded the following video (with the help of Andrew Wonder). This time we see him exploring the abandoned Bowery station of the JZ line. Apparently only half of the subway stop is actually in use.

According to Abandoned Stations:
As a result of the provision for an unbuilt subway, the station has two mezzanine areas, on each side of the Bowery. The one on the east side came up to a building at street level in the center mall of Delancey St. The one on the west came up into buildings on the north and south sides of the new street being built, now Kenmare St. The west mezzanine is now closed.
At the end of the video, Duncan walks onto the platform at the 2nd Avenue F station. It’s unclear how he made it there, but likely due to the Chrystie Street Connection, which carries quite the confusing history. Watch the video (hover cursor to see playback controls):
