Coen Brothers Releasing “Inside Llewyn Davis” About Village Folk Scene
The onetime “Mayor of MacDougal Street,” folk legend Dave Van Ronk, is the inspiration behind an upcoming feature film by the Coen Brothers. Rolling Stone reports that the new flick, dubbed Inside Llewyn Davis, focuses on the Greenwich Village folk scene of the early 1960s, and the rise of the genre. Although, the screenplay is reportedly heavily fictionalized. Indeed, the drama will follow Van Ronk likeness Llewyn while struggling to make it during the height of the protest movement.
