The Reformation Moving Across to 154 Ludlow

Ever since international fashion purveyors Stella Filante folded six months ago, the enormous store at 156 Ludlow Street remained caged and papered. Obviously another trendy threads store would open, but it was just a matter of time before discovering who. That question, however, was solved over the weekend thanks to workers preparing the space. The new occupants are actually just a stone’s throw away.

Three-year-old bi-coastal women’s boutique, The Reformation, is expanding its retail footprint by moving across the street from the current HQ at 143 Ludlow. The official launch of this new and improved store is timed to coincide with the start of Fashion Week. Indeed, a housewarming party is in the works for 156 Ludlow, scheduled for Thursday evening, the third annual Fashion’s Night Out. With more square-footage, Reformation will reportedly premiere their first ever men’s collection with designer Bobby Waltzer later this fall.

The Reformation was co-founded in Los Angeles in late 2008 by Yael Aflalo and Chi Bui, and expanded to the Lower East Side shortly thereafter.

156 Ludlow was once a candy factory – Lower East Side Corp. Wholesale Candy – that boasted some awesomely decrepit frontage.
