Rickshaw Sukkah Spotted on Orchard Street

Today is the penultimate day of Sukkot, the Jewish feast of the tabernacle.  It’s fairly normal to see and hear the Chabad Sukkah Mobile prowling (nay, speeding) the city each year.  But a rickshaw sukkah?

Yup.  In the last few days, we’ve seen the environmentally-conscious trailer-hut pulled through the neighborhood streets.  The most recent sighting was Saturday night outside the Blue Moon Hotel at 100 Orchard Street, resulting in plenty of gazes from the party people heading to the bars.

The rickshaw sukkah is the handiwork of Chabad Lower East Side, which operates inside the Blue Moon Hotel, and is run by Rabbi Yisroel Stone.
