Emotionally Connecting with Abandoned Bikes
Bikes get lonely, too, ya know. Especially during the holiday season. Many species of bicycle ride through this pot-holed life being used and abused by various owners. Some left for dead. Now a new local blog called Abandoned Bike NYC is aiming to solve this problem of foster bikes by tugging at the heartstrings.

Abandoned Bike NYC aims to help people connect to abandoned bikes in a more emotional way to prevent abandoned bikes in the future and to raise people’s awareness of the presence of abandoned bikes in our city.
Some dude is out there on the Lower East Side, targeting forsaken bikes and attaching cardboard signs inscribed with various messages. Messages that lead to personification of the object itself. For instance, this busted ride parked at the corner of Rivington and Bowery pouts, “I get cold at night,” and sits beside a website-branded QR code.
Will you show this bike some love?
