Pedestrian Struck at Delancey and Clinton [UPDATED]
Here’s some proof that re-tooling the approach to the Williamsburg Bridge is not the solution to the danger element here. Word is coming through the wire that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the intersection of Delancey and Clinton Street, right near the span. The victim is reportedly in critical condition.

UPDATE 3:23 pm – the pedestrian is pronounced dead on arrival.
UPDATE 4:05 pm – Gothamist has more on the story, noting that the victim was a 13-year-old girl. She was in cardiac arrest while being rushed to New York Downtown Hospital, and pronounced DOA.
