Clayton’s Corner: Jackie Curtis Memorial Stone in Tompkins Square Park
In this latest installment of Clayton’s Corner, the photographer chronicles a memorial event of sorts in Tompkins Square Park. Last Sunday afternoon, a modest crowd gathered around Temperance Fountain for the placement of a new stone pathway paver in memory of the late Warhol superstar Jackie Curtis.

Jackie Curtis is most well known in the mainstream for being name-checked in Lou Reed’s smash “Walk on the Wild Side” (Jackie is just speeding away/Thought she was James Dean for a day/Then I guess she had to crash/Valium would have helped that bash).
