“Inside Llewyn Davis” Filming in the Neighborhood Today
The East Village had a brief reprieve from filming activities for the forthcoming Coen Brothers movie Inside Llewyn Davis. Now it’s back to work. “No parking” signs placed in the immediate environs of Bleecker and Mulberry confirm that the production will hold a four-day residence in the neighborhood beginning later today. If last month’s film shoot on East Second Street was any indication, expect more classic cars and re-imagined storefronts.

Inside Llewyn Davis is a faux-folk story centered in the Greenwich Village music scene of the early 1960s. The plot focuses on the Van Ronk likeness named Llewyn, a character who is constantly struggling to make it during the height of the protest movement.
