Inspecting Delancey Trees for Longhorned Beetle
Yesterday. Early morning. The small green grove haven outside the Golden Age Center on Delancey Street. Yellow tape cordoned off the area while hard-hat dudes were climbing in trees. Ropes from their harnesses kissed the concrete. Not a particularly familiar sight here on the Lower East Side.

Workers onsite informed us that these trees were being inspected for the vicious Asian Longhorned Beetle. No word on whether any were found. Let’s hope not, as those buggers kill the plantlife.
