Screenwriter and director Nora Ephron passed away yesterday at the age of 71 after losing her battle with Leukemia. The native New Yorker is best known for penning the screenplay for When Harry Met Sally. That classic 1989 film (whether you like it or not) gave Katz’s Deli some orgasmic advertising, with Meg Ryan faking a climax while eating pastrami. “I’ll have what she’s having became a catchphrase of sorts.”
Ephron’s other credits include, among others:
My Blue Heaven (writer, executive producer; 1990)
Sleepless in Seattle (director, writer; 1993)
You’ve Got Mail (director, writer, producer; 1998)
Julie & Julia (director, writer, producer; 2009)
