The victim in last night’s shooting on Columbia Street has been identified. Sources close to the situation allege that sixteen-year-old high school junior Sadonte Delgado (Raphael Sadonte Ward) was shot in the chest did not survive the incident. The youngster, who apparently lived in the Baruch Houses, is currently being mourned by close friends and family on Twitter and other social networks.  You can see a photo of him if you search, but we’ll refrain from publishing here out of respect.

No suspects are in custody as of this morning. After shots were fired at around 9 pm near the Tearedhan bodega, the NYPD helicopter rushed to the scene, shining a spotlight in and around the Masaryk Towers. A pretty large crime scene blocked the lower part of Columbia Street for a couple hours.
