There are only a few reasons to ever hang out on northern Ludlow Street during the weekend, and those options are fading fast. Check it. For starters – Luna…gone; Earthmatters…finished; Pink Pony…donezo; Max Fish…threatened on the reg; Living Room…moving elsewhere; and now Motor City Bar…soon to be deceased.

This one cuts fairly deep, but it seemed inevitable. Sources in the industry have been fairly chatty about how Motor City Bar at 127 Ludlow Street has been on the ropes. We just didn’t want to believe the talk. Now it’s coming to fruition, and we’re all shades of pissed.

EV Grieve hears more conclusive news that Motor will shutter sometime after the lease expires at the end of this month. Likely a date between March and June. Whatever follows in its wake will like become another Lower East Side transient, catering to the same likeminded residents who themselves barely stick around.

Pour one out…
